Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

We tried them out after they first opened.....Service was horrible, yet manager at the time was very understanding and very apologetic. Food had to be sent back due to being uncooked and still cold so I hope that now that they have been open for awhile things have changed? We will definitely give this place another try! soon I am sure and see how they have worked out the newness kinks! :)

Prices are WAAAAYYY to high! Just cause they are in Wiregrass mall doesn't mean they should rip off the mall crowd. Their Prime Rib and rissoto are pretty good which is why they got 3 stars instead of 2 or 1.

I ordered the mahi mahi stuffed with crab entree. The mahi mahi was dry and bland, drowned in a bland sauce. When the waitress asked how our food was, we let her know the fish was dry. She then argued that mahi mahi is a dry fish, which it is not. For the price of the entree, the fish should not have been dry, or bland, and there should have been more than a single bite of crab in the entire fish. Disappointing, overpriced, bad service and bad food. Will never go back.

Visited on 01/01/13. Fine italian? .. not so .. see the former employee's review. I don't know about the staff, but the food seemed to be pre-frozen, as it was dry and tough .. eggplant parmesan and chicken marsala .. both were dry and tough. This place will close, as the owners obviously don't have a clue. If I wanted frozen, I'd just buy a tv dinner.

Very good. Outstanding food. Under new ownership/management. Very different in variety selection between lunch and dinner menus. However, you can get stuff for lunch if you know and ask (except for lasagna). Very good food.

My husband and his sister hosted there mothers 60th birthday here. All I can say is wow! The food, the service. Everything was amazing. Thank you so much for going above and beyond.

The host staff was terrible I was told 30-60 minute wait after 45 minutes and seeing 4 tables leave I was told 20 more minutes after reminding her about the 4 open tables I was sat right away The Positive Was The Spaghetti Was very good The bread was fresh Unsure if I'm willing to try again

I have to second every other review thus far. Based on the entree prices, they think very highly of their food. Unfortunately, the tortellini I ordered did not rise to the level of "Fine Dining" claimed on the sign. Watery sauce, over-cooked shrimp, mealy filling, undersized portion. The word "frozen" is a recurring theme in reviews of Ciao, and is on the money. Find an Olive Garden and get better food and atmosphere for half the price. Next time I want to drop coin on good Italian, I'll drive to Maggiano's.

I have never had a worse Italian meal than my dinner at this place. I went with my wife and some of her family to the Wiregrass shops and we were wandering around looking for a place to eat. All if the other places had a long wait, but this place said they could seat us immediately. Bad choice in opting for the short wait. My salmon salad came with a small, overcooked piece of fish along with a (too) small portion of greens. My wife had the chopped salad, which as far as I could tell was shredded pieces of pepperoni, ham, and salami with a solitary leaf of romaine. She ate the lonely lettuce leaf and left the deli meat shreds. Simply put - there is no reason to ever eat here. I would not eat here again if they paid me. Unless they paid per piece of the meat chunks, in which case I'm in, but only because I could make some serious bank.

Despite the mixed reviews, we decided to give it a try. Well, the management must be reading the reviews because they seemed to have made the necessary changes. The service was great and the meal delicious. I had the Pork Chop Marsala which was the recommendation of the server. It was served hot and was wonderful! I will definitely go back.

NEW MANAGEMENT...NO WAIT TIME..had been to this restaurant and left due to wait time....not this time.perfect service..our waitress, Abby was spot on..but not hovery..our request to sample taste a meatball was met with grace and a darn good meatball and thick tomatoes sauce ( we are meatball snobs..this had little to no filler and great spice)...will come again

We waited 15 minutes for the server to come greet us at our table. Service wasn't good. However, the food came out fast and delicious, which made up for it. If the service was better, this place would definitely be a hit.

Excellent Bolognese Spaghetti, tasty with just the right amount of good thick meat sauce. Zach did an excellent job serving me and the Pinot Grigio was excellent along with the pricing. I will become a regular!

Meh says it all. Our party of 3 split the antipasti chop salad, followed by Dude's Bolognese pasta, Mom's mushroom risotto and my lasagna. All of it was just sort of ok. Not bad, but not good either. The complementary breads were too salty. We won't be back. Oh! I did grab a slice of flourless chocolate cake to go. It was really good, but then, it's dark chocolate, sugar, butter and eggs. What's not to like?

OMG!!! The fettucini alfredo pasta with gratinated mozzarella cheese, grill chicken, and bacon was delicious!!!! Also, the stawberry virgin dakiri was good!! I am a satisfied pregnant woman and approve this message!! :)

We visited Wiregrass to eat at Pagelli's and realized it changed names. Apparently they changed everything except the Italian theme. The menu is much more limited and shockingly expensive for what you get. Nothing we ordered was particularly unique, inspired, or interesting. For a family of five and no alcohol I spent $150 with tip. I don't mind splurging for a great family meal, but there was nothing great about this. Oh yeah - and they took all the veal off the menu.

Over priced for what it is. Food was not really good. Eggplant had no flavor and the filet salad was drenched with dressing making everything soggy. Waitress tried to push her up sales a couple times which became annoying. Also, the atmosphere was alittle off...it's an Italian restaurant playing club music and other weird mixes. I would not waste your time or money.

When we were at Wiregrass last week, we noticed that the previous Italian restaurant, had changed hands (we knew that before) and has now changed its name to Ciao. We decided to give it a try. They have a whole new laminate menu (seemed kind of cheap). We tried the stuffed mushrooms for an app. which were great. I ordered the wild mushroom ravioli which was OK, but I suspect came out of a package (some were dry and hard). They had spaghetti and meatballs on the menu but strangely, no indication of other types of pasta to substitute. The whole vibe I got was of a cheaper place.

We saw the new restaurant and decided to give it a try. Bad idea. Took about five minutes for the waitress to arrive. She took our order and moved on, to where we don't know. About ten minutes later the manager came up and asked how things were going. I said "well we would like our salads to start out with." He apologized and got our salads for us. A bus boy came by (is bus boy pc these days), looks at my empty water glass and says"boy it looks like someone's parched." I told him that since it's been almost a half hour since we've seen our waitress might be the reason it's empty. He must have found her because she came to our table very quickly and says, "I'm sorry I forgot to put your order in." We said forget it but the manager came over and assured us they would get on top of it. 55 minutes after entering our food arrives, I got the snapper which was so dry and chewy (my wife tried it and agreed and she is not picky as am I) I pushed it aside. Fortunaely my wife had Ravioli, which was good and there was plenty of it so we shared that. Almost forgot to add that the prices were very high. The manager comes by and apologizes again then asks if I would like something else. We told him we didn't have the time (it was one hour and 45 minutes into this extravaganza). He decucted my food from the bill and gave us a card for a free meal for two if we came back. It was a nice try at a recovery but we don't think we'll be going back. I should have read the other reviews here before I tried it out.

I was reluctant to try it because of the reviews (and also I was lazy today and didn't want to go out). Hubby insisted on me trying it so he grabbed us a pizza (margherita) and a chicken dish (Jo Jo Pollo). When he brought the food home there was an extra box. It was a generous loaf of bread with an olive oil dipping sauce on the side. I was taken aback by how much there was. I decided to try his chicken first. It was lightly seasoned and grilled with spinach and fresh, thick tomato slices on top. All of that was covered by a generous portion of mozzarella cheese. The menu says there is lemon butter sauce, the sauce wasn't very lemony, but I like that it wasn't heavy or greasy either. I try to stay away from potatoes, but the garlic mash was really good. Nice garlic flavor with some of the potato skin - and a generous portion to boot. If I ordered it for myself I would easily get two meals out of it. The pizza was equally as good. Each slice had every topping. Ripe, thicker cut tomato, generous amount of fresh mozzarella cheese and basil. The basil was cut chiffonade style - I think the pizza would look upgraded if it was left whole. Seems picky to say, but the rest of the ingredients were so fresh - the basil visually took away from it. Besides that bit of snobbery, the crust was crunchy at first but had a good chew. The sauce was light, but appropriately so with all the tomato and tasted house-made. It was salty-savory-creamy-herbal... Just yum. Overall, it seems like Ciao had a tough go in the past, but an updated menu and another change in ownership (very recently per my Studsband) has served this restaurant well. I think there are some finer touches, that if addressed, will help them to compete with the other restaurants in the mall. I am going to give them another chance in person and I think you should, too!

Blech! Service was great but it can't make up for the bland food. I ordered a butternut squash ravioli and my husband ordered chicken parm. It was served to us in less than 5 minutes! My "creamy" sauce was non existent. And the pasta was warm to touch but piping hot in the center. Hello microwave! The chicken parm was dry and bathed in sauce. Salty sauce. We overpaid for a meal that would have been better at Olive Garden and that's not saying much. There are 3 better restaurant options at the mall. Choose them over this place.

I really can't say too much about the food at Ciao. I guess I should start off by saying I'm not a huge fan of Italian food. I went to the restaurant for a wedding rehearsal dinner, so we had a preset menu. Unfortunately, there were no non-pasta options. I feel like I would have probably been happier with something a little less heavy, but there wasn't the option. The staff was very nice and accommodating. There were about 30 people at the dinner, and they did very well handling all of us without a problem. I just probably will not be back unless it is for another event like the one that brought me there.

Horrible experience. We were in on a Sunday afternoon. The place was not busy. Took 15 minutes to see a waiter. Soup was luke-warm, then waited 45 minutes for two salads! Bread was cold. We had to flag down the hostess to even get our check. Salad was boring. Been there twice, first and last.

This will teach me to check the Yelp review. We walked into the restaurant and it was empty at 5:30 on Black Friday. The staff seemed very nice and obviously concerned about how slow it was. I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea which was watered down. The menu was very limited. We couldn't find anything that grabbed our attention. So we decided to order a couple of appetizers. We got the meat plate and the cheese platter. The meat plate was basically just rolled cold cuts I could get from Publix, though Publix would probably be better. The capicola was hard and tasteless. The cheese platter was very good, except for the Mozzarella which was tasteless. The bread they sent over was good except that it had obviously been sitting for a while as the end where the loaf had been cut In half was hard. Why precut the loaf? All through dinner the lights kept being dimmed and brightened. The Christmas music was loud. So, in a nutshell, I can't believe this place is open at all.
